Oman
The Yiti Sustainable City project is in line with the principle of a low-carbon lifestyle. It aims to improve the quality of life of city dwellers while reducing the negative impact on the environment. Utilizing clean energy, water and waste recycling, food production, clean mobility and improved air quality, it is Oman's first net-zero energy, people-centered city.
As part of an integrated approach to sustainability, the city features gyms, a sports complex, a 7.4 km running and cycling track, outdoor fitness stations, tennis courts, basketball courts, 11 playgrounds, swimming pools, an equestrian club, over 3 km of walking trails and access to non-motorized water sports on the beach. The on-site school and daycare are within walking or biking distance to all neighborhoods without crossing roads.
The thoughtful landscaping allows residents to farm on community plots and grow herbs and leafy vegetables in greenhouses.
The city is home to one of the largest centers in the region offering a comprehensive and integrated approach to the treatment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other related conditions.
