Former rectory from the 16th century located on the outskirts of the small town of Castell d'Empordà, which originally served as the residence of the parish priest of the church of Sant Martí de Llaneres. Castell d'Empordà was the name used to designate the entire town, whose origins arose in the castle of the Counts of Empúries located on the top of the hill. In the year 1101, the parish church of Sancto Martini de Laneras is already documented, as in different texts from the 13th and 14th centuries. In 1596 it is already recorded as the parish of Castell d'Empordà, we even find that the current temple was started in 1584 and the date of the lintel suggests that it was finished two years later. It currently belongs to the Bishopric and is almost in disuse, only one ceremony a year is usually held.

The rectory, acquired at the end of the 1970s by the current owner family, was completely renovated for private use, fully respecting all existing architectural elements such as its vaulted ceilings and ceramic floors of the time. Proof of this is the original kitchen with its large earthen fire and oven, which are still intact today. It also stands out for its wide spaces, high ceilings, excellent distribution and great light due to its southwest orientation.
