One of the top hospitality establishments in Magoebaskloof, this 4.2 Ha property is sold as a going concern.
Care and dedication were taken to create the most magical gardens to embrace the outstanding and spectacular views. The spacious two-bedroom homestead with inviting fireplace, and the six self-catering cottages, sleeping up to 14 guests, are dotted among the delightful gardens, as is the quaint coffee shop which overlooks the indigenous forest escarp. In addition, there are several outbuildings housing laundry services, farm machinery, staff quarters, etc.
Surplus to own use, the organically grown products such as figs, raspberries, quince, blueberries, crab apples, rhubarb, lime and lemons, mint and other herbs are used to prepare, preserve and bottle in the well-equipped facility on the farm. Products are sold online and at the coffee shop to the local outlets.
Nearby walking and hiking trails enable guests to enjoy the natural serenity of the mountains and indigenous forests in the area.
Apart from the flowing gardens to visit at a fee, the main income is derived from the self catering guest cottages for the top end market. The 6 chalets are tucked away in the lush gardens of about 2,000 Azaleas and 900 Hydrangeas, overlooking the indigenous forest.
A lane of Hydrangeas and Azaleas directs the visitor up to the main gardens. Here an Azalea maize with it s spring flowering blooms and a lovely Clivia garden create a lot of interest on the way to the coffee shop on an overhanging/canterlever deck to showcase the view down the valley. These 2 Ha of gardens are sculptered around ancient indigenous trees by a permanent grounds keeper and his team.
A pebble road leads the visitor past the quaint cordial factory and Avocado orchard and a 1,000 sqm veggie garden. The cottages are cleverly hidden amongst another Azalea and Hydrangea garden and borders on the indigenous forest covered in ancient mosses.
