The perfect Umbrian hideaway; a fully restored stone house in a cluster of old stone farm buildings in the ancient hamlet of Corgna, not far from the village of Lisciano Niccone. The house is the corner section, so enjoys views on two sides. All bar one of the buildings in the hamlet are unrestored, so the property is very private. On the ground floor, which is independent from the upper floors, there is a bedroom, a bathroom, and laundry facilities. There is also a room that is used as a study, but contains sofa beds, so can easily be used for further accommodation. Original stone stairs lead to the first floor, where you enter the kitchen via a glassed-in loggia. Behind the kitchen is a sitting room with beautiful, original stone fireplace, containing a wood burning stove. Steps lead from the living room to a high-ceilinged dining room that was once used as a bedroom. Stairs lead from the kitchen to the upper floor, where you find the large main bedroom and accompanying shower room.
Across the track is a high stone wall with a gate, from which steps lead up to the really rather beautiful swimming pool and garden area. This is actually quite elevated , so affords a lovely view of the house as well as fabulous views southwards across the narrow valley, even taking in a slice of nearby Lake Trasimeno. The pool area has ample seating spots and shade, as well as tables and a BBQ area.
Perfect for many uses, the current owners have called this their full time home for many years, but it could equally be a good lock-up-and-leave for someone seeking a slice of the good life in Umbria.
